Fila Disruptor II

As we know fashion goes in cycles and if you are a child of the 90's you will be loving the current wave of sportswear brands making a comeback. Even if you aren't there is a lot to be appreciated from the likes of Champion, Fila, Mizuno and of course heritage models coming back from the mainstays like New Balance, Nike and Adidas.

In recent times skinny jeans have been exchanged for wide cropped pants which demands more chunky sneakers to balance things out.  This has seen the introduction of the so-called "dad shoe" trend. We've seen brands like Balenciaga create almost comical renditions like the Triple S while others like New Balance have patiently waited for people to find out how good the 99X series is. If Steve Jobs chose them as his daily you know they must be good.

The masses are finally beginning to realise what Steve Jobs and Pete Carroll knew all along, all-day comfort and looking fresh don't need to be at opposite ends of the spectrum. Or maybe they were just opting for function over form, either way, my feet are thankful.

One of those organic comebacks has come from the Fila archives in the form of the Disruptor II, unashamedly oversized and oozing with nostalgia there is just something quietly cool about them.

To my surprise they lighter than they appear to be and as comfortable as you expect them to be.  While the silhouette draws all the attention the rest remains clean and simple finished off with that instantly recognizable Fila branding on the side, heel and tongue. You might want to double up on these so you have a second pair ready to go after you beat up the first.
