Q&A: Logan Dodds

We caught up with Logan Dodds this week in one of his favourite places in NZ to chat about all things travel, adventure, and what keeps him motivated...

Logan Dodds

Where is your favourite place in New Zealand?

The Coromandel beaches as well as Queenstown and its surrounding areas would have to be up there at the top of the list. You really can't beat it. NZ would have to be one of my all time favourite countries. After travelling so much around the world you really appreciate what we have in our backyard.

If you could pick any place in the world to travel back to what place would that be and why?

I have unfinished business with Norway. It's a place that I've always been drawn to. Spending a weekend in Olso we touched the surface of one beautiful country, the landscape is something out of this world. Faroe Islands is also another place with super harsh conditions and extremely unique landscapes. Located half way between UK & Iceland, this group of islands has a population of 50,000, and it felt like we were the pioneers of a new country with no one around as far as the eye could see.

What keeps you motivated each day?

The thought of failure. Not being my best possible self, the self I know I have the potential to be. Working out / training keeps my mind sharp, my body in prime condition and my mental clarity at its pinnacle. When I look and feel good the ripple effect to the rest of my life is crazy. Having the best gear from Stirling Sports helps ten fold. Comfort and style is a big one getting the most out of my workouts.

Three tips to take on when travelling:

1. Live in the moment - be a yes man. Take every opportunity when they arise.

2. Behind the scenes – there are tonnes of moments behind the scenes of travelling that become tiring, but the lows make the highs high.

3. Get cultured - embrace the culture. The weird and wonderful moments that make a place what it is. 'Embrace, experience & open minded' is my motto.

If you could give your 12 year old self advice what would it be?

Life is too short to sweat the small stuff. Live in the moment. Never wish away your youth. Tell your parents how grateful you are for a good upbringing. The universe is the most powerful tool in the box. No regrets just lessons. The little things are actually the biggest things. The list goes on.

How would you describe your style in three words?

Achievable. Sports x Street.
